U.S. Navy Memorial Announces “Movies on the Memorial” Summer Schedule

This summer, the United States Navy Memorial will host free outdoor movie screenings every Thursday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. These Navy-themed films will be shown on a jumbo screen on Memorial Plaza, adjacent to the Navy Memorial Visitor Center.

Movies will begin at dusk to optimize the viewing experience. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to lay out on the plaza, and concessions will be sold inside of the Visitor Center. In the case of inclement weather, the scheduled movie will be canceled and the series will resume the following week.

The Navy Memorial’s Movies on the Memorial series is part to an ongoing effort to inform the public about America’s rich maritime heritage and pay tribute to the Sea Service community.
