Hold your reenlistment, promotion, retirement, change-of-command, or meeting at the United States Navy Memorial.
The United States Navy Memorial is steeped in Navy heritage, is located downtown on Pennsylvania Avenue half way between the White House and the Capitol Building, and easily accessible at the Navy Memorial/National Archives metro stop.
Can my ceremony costs be covered by my Command under the contract the Navy has with the Navy Memorial?
The United States Navy Memorial's contract with the Navy authorizes Navy Commands to reserve, fund and execute retirements, re-enlistments/promotions, change of commands, and full or half day meetings. Funding for these events are the responsibility of the command that is requesting the ceremony or event. Under the contract, the Navy Memorial will provide venue space, audio visual, tables, chairs, linen, and ceremonial accoutrements.
In addition to providing technical capabilities ranked among the best in Washington DC, the Navy Memorial is equipped with a full catering kitchen and service that can provide anything from modest refreshments to formal dinners. Each year the Navy Memorial hosts more than 650 events, most of which, are Navy related and we take our meetings and ceremonies seriously. Our mission is to Honor, Recognize and Celebrate the men and women of the Sea Services; so unlike other venues, our staff knows the Navy and its ceremonies.
The Navy Memorial has four unique spaces with unlimited layout options:
- Arleigh and Roberta Burke Theater seats 230 guests comfortably and has advanced technological capabilities
- Gallery Deck is our principal exhibit space and reception area
- Delbert D. Black National Chiefs’ Mess is adjoined to the Gallery Deck and may be closed for a more intimate affair.
- Asiatic Fleet Room was designed with a Ward Room feel for smaller meetings
The Navy Memorial is easily accessible for your guests, conveniently located and sits in good company across the street from the National Archives and several blocks from the United States Capitol.
