U.S Navy Memorial and Greenbrier Village Celebrate Navy Veteran Rex Campbell's 99th Birthday with a Patriotic Flair

Rex Campbell, a World War II Navy veteran and 2012 Navy Legacy Veteran of the Year recipient and longtime Greenbrier Village resident, celebrated his 99th birthday with family, friends, and a number of special guests at a patriotic birthday event hosted by the U.S. Navy, Memorial, Greenbrier Village and the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park, Inc. The event will took place at The Homes of Greenbrier in Oklahoma, on Thursday, June 17th at 1:30 p.m.

The event included a parade of first responders, the National Anthem, a special musical salute, and several presentations and proclamations special guests and dignitaries. Watch the video below to see a celebration of Rex’s amazing deeds and life below:

United States Navy Memorial to Broadcast Blessing of the Fleet

The United States Navy Memorial will air the 30th Annual Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony in Washington D.C. on April 12th at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. Due to public concerns about spreading COVID-19, the public will not be able to attend the event in person but will be able to watch on the Navy Memorial website at NavyMemorial.org.

Remembering Navy Memorial Founder Dr. Jack P. London

We are heartbroken at the loss of Dr. Jack P. London, one of the United States Navy Memorial’s founders, Lone Sailor Award winner, and an esteemed patriot. A man of countless accomplishments, Dr. London served in the Navy on active duty for 12 years, being the commanding officer on missions involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Soviet Union’s nuclear submarine threat.
