Seven Cottonwood County Brothers honored with plaque at U.S. Navy Memorial
(via KLGR) On Wednesday, May 8, seven brothers from Bingham Lake, Minnesota, were honored with a commemorative plaque at the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The Gosen Brothers served with honor and distinction during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The seven brothers are:
Elmer Gosen, SC1c, WWII – 1940-1946
Abram Gosen, EM1c, WWII – 1942-1945
Albert Gosen, Aviation Machinist Mate First Class, WWII – 1942-1945
Jack Gosen, Signalman First Class, WWII – 1942-1945
Raymond H. Gosen, Seaman First Class, WWII – 1945-1946
Richard Gosen, TD3, Korea – 1948-1951
Lawrence Gosen, LCDR, Vietnam 1959-1968
All but one of the brothers (Lawrence “Larry” Gosen) came home after their service was complete.
In a robust display of familial pride, 40-50 members of the Gosen family gathered in Washington, D.C., to pay tribute to this Gold Star Family that put their lives on the line to protect our country.

"The Gosen brothers represented the best of Minnesota and the best of America, and it is so fitting that we honor them today," said Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). "United by blood and a shared devotion to our country, those brothers answered the call of duty serving in the Navy through some of the most significant moments in our nation's history. We will always be grateful to these brothers for their sacrifice and how they put it all on the line for a cause greater than themselves."
“This day is incredibly special for me and my family because it gives recognition not only to the men in our family who served in the years 1940 and 1916, but also to all the Sailors who served in the service during that time and after,” said Greg Gosen, son of Jack Gosen.
