Navy Band Concert Series at the United States Navy Memorial

Washington, D.C. -- The United States Navy Memorial is hosting Concerts on the Avenue, a summer concert series by the United States Navy Band, until Labor Day.

The United States Navy Band began its Concerts on the Avenue series in 1997. The Navy Band is carrying on this tradition by performing on Memorial Plaza Tuesdays at 7:30pm. Performances will feature various ensembles of the Navy Band, including the Commodores, Cruisers, Country Current, and Concert Band. On select weeks, the full Navy Band will perform along with the Navy Ceremonial Guard and Navy Drill Team.

The concert series highlights naval history and heritage, including the current exhibits at the Navy Memorial, honors the U.S. Navy fleet, and pays tribute to the nation’s veterans. It is a family-friendly event featuring a variety of musical genres, including current radio hits, iconic American music, and patriotic standards.

If weather conditions, including heat, preclude an outdoor concert from occurring, the concert will be moved inside. A rain-out concert featuring the Sea Chanters will be held inside the Burke Theater, located in the Navy Memorial’s Visitor Center.
