Life at sea can be difficult and rewarding. Each of the Sea Services has different ways to honor and recognize the achievements of individuals and groups who do extraordinary things. The Navy Memorial Education team has created learning competitions for grades K to 12+ to participate in enrichment activities and be recognized for their efforts. +These activities, projects, and competitions, are also open to teachers, those interested in Sea Service history, Veterans, and more.+
There are different ways to participate. Students can participate in the Sea Service Project (Grades 5-12+), Engagement Challenge (Grades K-12+), Sea Service Video Challenge (Grades K-12+) or STEM Competitions (Grades K-12+). The Sea Service Project
Grades 5-12: Documentary - Select an individual, a ship, war, battle or an event represented in the Navy Memorial Interview Archive and develop a short, student composed, narrated, and directed documentary.
The Engagement Challenge
Grades K-12: Don’t just complete the activities created by the Navy Memorial Education Department, show us how you are doing. After completing activities from the Navy Memorial Education Department, submit your work and be recognized.
The Sea Service Video Challenge
Grades K-12: Don’t just complete the activities created by the Navy Memorial Education Department, show us how you are doing by sending in short video clips of you completing specific activities created by the Navy Memorial Education Department and be recognized. All video entries must be school appropriate and approved by your Parents or Guardians before submitting.
STEM Challenge
