Rear Admiral Sam Perez, U.S. Navy (Ret.)

Chief Executive Officer, Ocean Infinity America

RADM Sam Perez (Ret.) is the Chief Executive Officer for Ocean Infinity America. Sam retired from active duty in August 2016. Prior to retiring from military service, he served as the U.S. Navy’s 65th President of the Board of Inspection and Survey. Sam led a team of experts who assessed the material readiness of the fleet by performing comprehensive inspections on shipboard systems. Prior to his tour at the Board of Inspection and Survey, RADM Perez served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Plans, Policy and Operations in the Bureau of Military Affairs at the State Department.

During his tenure as Deputy Assistant Secretary, RADM Perez provided executive leadership and guidance for U.S. government global security assistance programs and policies, such as Foreign Military Financing and the Global Peace Operations Initiative and led the Department of State’s global conventional weapons destruction efforts. RADM Perez served multiple command and staff tours in the Department of Defense, including staff assignments in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Navy Staff. RADM Perez has extensive operational experience in Far East Asia and in the Arabian Gulf region. He has held four commands at sea, including command of Carrier Strike Group ONE. In addition to his at sea commands, RADM Perez commanded Joint Task Force Port Opening, the effort to reconstruct and open Port Au Prince port following the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

RADM Perez is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Planning from the Naval Postgraduate School. He was a Federal Executive Fellow at MIT and was a Senior Navy Fellow at the Strategic Studies Group.
