This archive commemorates the life and memory of the USS Hector AR-7. The following 16 Cruise Books were made by her crew between the years 1954 and 1986

“The 16 presentations below highlight 16 individual cruise books, 16 time capsules, and 16 stories, showcasing the life, service, and legacy of a ship that means so much to me and my shipmates.

The USS Hector served in World War, Two, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Cold War, and participated in numerous operations and assisted submarines, battleships, cruisers, aircraft carriers, destroyers, landing craft, patrol craft and more to ensure the fleet was ready for the Nations call.

The USS Hector served proudly for 43 continuous years and was decommissioned in 1987.

At the request of our association, the United States Navy Memorial honors, recognizes, and celebrates the memory and legacy of the USS Hector by presenting interviews of our crew and cruise books, on a national platform.

It is our purpose to show those interested what the USS Hector AR-7 was, and still is, in the hearts of those who served aboard her. It is our pleasure to work with the United States Navy Memorial in the furtherance of our shared missions.”
