The Lone Sailor Awards Dinner – September 19, 2024

The Lone Sailor Awards Dinner is a celebratory gala that honors the U.S. Navy Memorial’s newest award recipients. It is at this event that the Lone Sailor and Naval Heritage Awards are presented.

All proceeds from this event go toward supporting the U.S. Navy Memorial’s educational programs and exhibits, including the National Chief’s Mess, Navy Log, Stories of Service program, digital productions, and much more.

How to Get Involved

One of the signature events of its kind in Washington, D.C., the Lone Sailor Awards Dinner brings together leaders from the Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps, along with business leaders, decorated veterans, retirees, and families. Numerous military leaders attend the event and are dispersed among the guest tables, giving attendees an opportunity to meet those who lead our Sea Services.

About the Lone Sailor & Naval Heritage Awards

The Lone Sailor Award is given to Sea Service veterans who have excelled with distinction in their respective careers during or after their service. The award recipients will join an impressive list of men and women who have distinguished themselves by drawing upon their military experience to become successful in their subsequent careers and lives, while exemplifying the core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment.

The Naval Heritage Award is given to Americans who have excelled with distinction in their respective careers, distinguished themselves with their significant support of the nation’s Sea Services, and whose lives and careers exemplify the core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. These award recipients join an impressive list of men and women who have made a direct and significant contribution to the Sea Services in their lives.
