Navy Memorials Around The Country

The US Navy Memorial - Washington, D.C.
The Homecoming© statue was dedicated to military personnel and their families in 1992 at the Naval Heritage Center. The statue portrays a joyous reunion of a Sailor, wife and child. The reunion is as much a celebration of success as it is a liberation from hardship. The Homecoming© statue attests to a shared sense of accomplishment, a recognition by Sailors, wspouses and children that each has done the duty set before them. Not only is theirs the triumph of survival, it is a triumph of achievement.
The statue stands firmly on the Quarterdeck of the Naval Heritage Center, adjacent to the Memorial Plaza. Visitors are moved by the statue and its representation of the military family. Designed by Stanley Bleifeld, the statue was his second major work for the Navy Memorial.
The Homecoming© statue was funded by the Fleet Reserve Association.
