Nurse Candidate Program (NCP)
See Note 3. under "Applying For an NROTC Scholarship" 4 year NROTC scholarships are available to students interested in pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing. Selectees must be accepted into and major in a nursing program, leading to a commission in the Navy Nurse Corps. To talk to someone about this program, call 1-800-NAV-ROTC and enter extension 325 when prompted to do so.

Medical School
Full tuition payment for a maximum of four years; Full payment for all school-required fees and expenses, except housing and meals; Reimbursement for all books and required equipment; A monthly stipend of at least $913; Serve one year of active duty as a Navy Medical Corps Officer for each year of scholarship participation with a minimum of 3 years of service.

Nursing School
Full tuitition for four years; Reimbursment for books and a $150 monthly stipend.

Optometry School
Full tuition for optometry school, but not room and board, or other associated incidental expenses. This does cover books and lab equipment. A monthly stipend of $1020, 2 years of active duty service (or one half year for each half year in the program, whichever is greater), with a minimum of 8 years of service.

Medical Services
The Health Services Collegiate Scholarship Program offers military pay, allowances and active duty benefits while attending school full time. You must graduate from an accredited school within 24 months after beginning the program. A military service obligation as a dentist or in the Medical Services Corps is required.

Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program (MECP)
The Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program (MECP) is an in-service procurement program that gives qualified enlisted men and women a chance to earn a baccalaureate degree in nursing and to be appointed as an Ensign, Nurse Corps, USNR.
