Homecoming Statue - Norfolk, Virginia

A replica of The Homecoming© statue was dedicated in Norfolk in Town Point Park on October 14, 2000. The park overlooks the Elizabeth River. Because Norfolk is considered the Navy's "hometown," the city is a perfect place for a Homecoming statue to reside. The statue was placed in Norfolk "in honor of Navy families and their ongoing support."

The Homecoming© statue was funded by local Tidewater area branches of the Fleet Reserve Association, which also provided for statue placement and site improvements. Other than Washington, D.C., Norfolk is the only city to host both Lone Sailor and Homecoming statues.
