Planned Giving Learn more

One of the finest gifts or tributes we can give is one which honors another person or persons, or one which memorializes some important milestone. As part of our ongoing mission "Honoring the men and women of the United States Navy – past, present and future,” the Navy Memorial provides ways to make charitable giving especially meaningful.

With your gift, you can memorialize persons or events which are important to you while at the same time keep alive the Memorial’s  important naval heritage programs. Some of these ways to give are:

"In Memory Of"

"In Memory Of" donations are personal remembrances that honor the life of a departed friend, shipmate, or relative with a gift of love and honor. This type donation is often made as "in lieu of flowers."

"In Honor Of"

"In Honor Of" donations provide a meaningful way to honor a friend, relative, or colleague celebrating a special occasion such as a promotion, retirement, birthday, graduation or anniversary. This type of donation is often made as "in lieu of gifts."

"Planned Giving"

The United States Navy Memorial offers several opportunities for donors to include the Memorial in their wills or to donate using other life income programs. Donors who do so will not only support the mission of the United States Navy Memorial, but will also join the Naval Heritage Fleet and have their names displayed in our Heritage Center.

Donor Privacy Policy

The United States Navy Memorial Foundation respects the privacy of its donors and has put into place a Donor Privacy Policy to honor their rights.

The United States Navy Memorial Foundation maintains the highest level of privacy concerning our donors’ contact and giving history. The United States Navy Memorial Foundation may occasionally share its donor list with similar organizations with mutual interests.

To publicly recognize and thank donors for their generosity, unless the donor chooses not to be listed and notifies the Foundation of that desire, we occasionally print a list of our donors in internal publications. In such cases, other organizations and third parties will have access to our donor names.

Combined Federal Campaign

Federal and military employees in the Washington DC have the opportunity to support the Navy Memorial through the Combined Federal Campaign by entering 76550 on the pledge card.

This is one of the simplest and most efficient ways for you to donate to the Memorial. Just a small amount automatically deducted from your paycheck can assist the Memorial in its outstanding work in honoring the men and women of the United States Navy – past, present, and future.

When your CFC administrator gives you a pledge card, make sure that you designate the Navy Memorial – 76550. Your gift will enable us to provide more ways for honoring our Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and Marines who are tireless in their devotion to this country and to maintaining your freedoms and safety and more ways to educate the public about the sacrifices these Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and Marines make daily.
